Xiaomi-backed wearable device maker Huami recently announced that it will launch two new smartwatches under the GT 2 lineup in India on January 19. The company launched the Amazfit GTS 2 and GTR 2 models late last year. Now, it aims to expand the GT 2 line with the launch of Amazfit GTS 2e and GTR 2e.
New Amazfit Smartwatches with Longer Battery Life
Amazfit GTS 2e
The Amazfit GTS 2e will be the next addition to the GTS 2 smartwatch series and will feature similar features as its older brother. However, unlike the GTS 2, this model will not come with a Wi-Fi transmitter and will therefore depend on the phone’s network connection.
The smartwatch will reportedly feature a 1.65-inch HD AMOLED display with a rotary knob for user interface navigation. The display will come with a resolution of 348 x 442 pixels, with a pixel density of 341ppi.
It will carry a 246 mAh battery, much like the GTS 2. However, with the removal of Wi-Fi support, the same battery will keep the device running for 14 days in a row on a single charge and 24 days if used on the basic watch. . -mode. Also, there will be sensors for monitoring sleep and activity and monitoring blood oxygen. It also supports 24-hour heart rate monitoring using a BioTracker PPG heart rate sensor.
This watch will appear in three colors: Obsidian Black, Roland Purple, also Dark Night Green. The watch is currently available for CNY 799 (~ Rs. 9,070) in China. However, the company has yet to reveal the price for India.
Amazfit GTR 2e
Coming to the top-end GTR 2e model, this one will also come with similar features to its predecessor, the GTR 2. However, to extend the battery life of the device, the company also got rid of its Wi-Fi transmitter.
Now, apart from this lack of Wi-Fi support, this GTR 2e is pretty much than same as the GTR 2. It features the same 1.39-inch rotatable AMOLED display with a 454 x 454-pixel resolution. And Huami kept the same 471 mAh battery as in the GTR 2. However, this watch can run for up to 24 days on a single charge, unlike this GTR 2 which has 14-day battery life.
So aside from the lack of Wi-Fi support and longer battery life, there isn’t much of a difference between the GTR 2 and the GTR 2e. Plus, it’s priced at a cheaper CNY 799 (~ Rs. 9,070) in China and three new sporty colors: Obsidian Black, Dolphin Gray, and Lake Ice Green.
So these were the two new Amazfit models that Huami plans to bring to India later this month. Both will be available on the official Amazfit website. However, in third-party options, the GTR 2e will be available to buy on Amazon, while the GTS 2e will head to Flipkart.
