A new bug in Instagram’s TikTok-like short videos feature, Instagram Reels, shows 0 views on users’ videos, even after days of posting. Several users have transferred their concerns to online platforms such as Twitter and Reddit. Since yesterday, reports regarding this annoying 0 views error for Instagram Reels have been pouring in.
Now for those who don’t know, Facebook social giant Instagram began testing its short-form video service Reels in 2019. The company launched Instagram Reels in India just after the government banned the popular video platform. TikTok shorts last year. It instantly became quite popular as many popular influencers switched to it, and since its launch, Instagram has even tested inter-reel ads to capitalize on content.
However, a recent bug in Reels is causing videos to get stuck at zero views for users. A considerable number of users have reported that their Reels videos are stuck at “0 views” even after two to three days of posting. Users say they can see the number of likes and comments on the reels, but the view count remains at zero. Here are some examples:
Now, it seems that the bug does not affect all Instagram users. However, due to the increasing number of tweets, it seems to have affected a large number of users.
There is no real solution to this yet and the company has not addressed the problem as of this writing. However, considering that Instagram is focusing more on video-sharing features and features, as confirmed by its CEO, we can expect the company to fix the problem sooner rather than later.
