As the year draws to a close, Vivo has decided to add one last smartphone to its Indian portfolio, albeit quietly and without much fuss. The Chinese giant has unveiled an improved version of the recently launched Vivo V20. It’s called Vivo V20 2021 and it only brings a minor processor update.
Vivo V20 2021: Specifications
The Amazon listing for this new Vivo V20 2021 arrived overnight. It offers the same design, cameras, also feature as this original variant. The only difference here is that the Snapdragon 730G powers the Vivo V20 2021 compared to the Snapdragon 720G SoC.
Both chipsets are quite similar (read the in-depth comparison here) and the Snapdragon 730G wouldn’t bring a major improvement in everyday performance. This is an unnecessary upgrade, especially with the standard V20 available at the same retail price.
In addition to the chipset, the rest of the specifications remain the same. It has a 6.44-inch Full-HD + AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels on the front. There is also a 44 MP selfie camera located inside the waterdrop notch at the top. Supports eye autofocus technology to better follow subjects while recording videos. You can see how the Vivo V20 2021’s eye autofocus function works right here:
The rear camera island includes a 64MP main camera, which is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP mono sensor. Under the hood, the chipset is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage. It can be increased up to 1 TB with a microSD card. There is also a 4000 mAh battery with 33 W fast charging on board.
Price and availability
Vivo V20 2021 is priced at Rs. 24,990 for the single 8GB + 128GB variant. The device is available in two color combinations: Sunset Melody and Midnight Jazz. It’s on sale now through Amazon India, so you don’t need to wait to get your hands on this new smartphone.
