Xiaomi refocused on its premium offerings and launched the flagship Mi 10, as well as this Mi 10T series, in India earlier this year. The Chinese giant plans to add a new smartphone to its Mi 10 series in India. Xiaomi is giving fans something to look forward to early next year with a sneak peek at the rumored Mi 10i.
Mi 10i India Release Date
This official Twitter user of Xiaomi India has tweeted a teaser video along with this release date. The video shows the main 108MP camera and shows an “i” after the 10. This suggests that the next device will be the Mi 10i. It will be a 5G-enabled mid-ranger taking on the Moto G 5G and OnePlus Nord.
My 10i will probably be a modified version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G that was presented in China about a month ago. It is a slightly improved variant of the Mi 10T-Lite that went official in Europe earlier this year.
Xiaomi has set up a dedicated landing page confirming that the Mi 10i will be a renamed Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G. It has been announced that the next device will arrive in the same color offerings as the Note 9 Pro 5G. It will also feature a 108MP camera, a greater refresh rate display, also a powerful 5G chipset.
Mi 10i: Specifications (expected)
The circular four-camera setup on the rear is driven by a 108MP primary sensor. It’s the Samsung ISOCELL HM2 sensor, which is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree FOV, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor.
Under this hood, this Mi 10i will be powered by the Snapdragon 750G SoC. It will be paired with up to 8GB of RAM also up to 256GB of onboard storage. The device will also come equipped with a 4820 mAh battery, 33 W fast charging, and a USB Type-C port. It may also be a delight for some, but the Mi 10i may also include a 3.5mm audio jack.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is priced starting at CNY 1,599 (~ Rs. 17,999) in China. But we should not expect the Mi 10i to arrive at this price. Our best guess is that this Mi 10i will begin at Rs. 19,999 in India. It could spell trouble for OnePlus Nord sales as you get an equally powerful device, with better cameras, for close to Rs. 7,000 cheap.
